Mushfiqur Rahim Scores Fastest Century for Bangladesh in Second ODI Against Ireland

Veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim made history on Monday by scoring the fastest century for Bangladesh in ODIs. Rahim completed his century in only 60 balls during the second ODI against Ireland in Sylhet, breaking the previous record set by Shakib Al Hasan for scoring the fastest century in ODIs for Bangladesh in 63 balls against Zimbabwe in 2009.
Rahim’s incredible performance was marked by 14 fours and two sixes, resulting in an unbeaten score of 100 runs at a strike-rate of 166.66. This remarkable achievement was accomplished on the last ball of Bangladesh’s innings in the second ODI against Ireland.

In addition to his record-breaking century, Rahim has also become the third batsman to score 7000 or more runs for Bangladesh in ODIs, following in the footsteps of Shakib and Tamim Iqbal. Rahim now has nine centuries in ODIs, cementing his status as a top player in the Bangladeshi cricket team.

Bangladesh’s impressive performance was not limited to Rahim’s record-breaking century. The team also scored their highest score in ODIs, with a total of 349 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs. This surpassed their previous best score of 338 runs in the first match against Ireland at the same venue just two days prior.
Rahim’s performance and Bangladesh’s record-breaking score are a testament to the strength and talent of the Bangladeshi cricket team. Fans and experts alike will undoubtedly be eagerly anticipating future achievements from this dynamic and talented group of players.
