Chhattisgarh Trails Behind, Recording 67% Turnout
While Madhya Pradesh set a new benchmark for voter participation, its neighboring state Chhattisgarh registered a slightly lower turnout of 67%. Dimani Constituency Marred by Violence
An otherwise peaceful polling day was disrupted by an incident of violence in the Dimani assembly constituency of Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district. Stone-pelting between two groups erupted at polling booths in Mirghan, leading to injuries to one person. The situation was quickly brought under control by security personnel, who were deployed in heavy numbers across the constituency.
