This moist and flavorful Homemade Banana Bread recipe is easy to make with ripe bananas, and it’s perfect for breakfast or as a snack. It’s also a great way to use up overripe bananas.

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 1 hour Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes Servings: 12
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
Instructions:

- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add the mashed bananas to the wet ingredients, and mix until well combined.
- Gradually stir in the flour mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter, as this can result in a tough banana bread.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts, if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, and smooth out the top with a spatula.
- Bake the banana bread for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice the banana bread and serve. Store any leftover banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
